Wondering if a tankless water heater is right for you? It's important to consider the advantages and disadvantages of tankless water heaters before you make your decision. Plus, you'll learn about electric tankless heaters as well as gas tankless water heaters from the experts in tankless water heater installation:
First and foremost, tankless water heaters (also known as instant hot water heaters or on-demand heaters) use up to 50% less energy than traditional water tanks. This also saves you money because you're not keeping 50 gallons of more water hot continuously on the chance that it may be needed.
Beyond the energy and cost savings, they also supply hot water on-demand, wasting far less water as you wait for it to warm.
The biggest disadvantage to tankless water heaters Elk Grove is the cost that you pay up-front to own them. Smaller heaters often don't provide enough hot water for the average sized families. What's more, they only serve one faucet at a time and don't work concurrently. So if you want to shower while the dishwasher is running, you're out of luck. Larger units can handle these demands easily, but they are more expensive.
It's important to note that heaters, because of the high powered elements within them that heat the water on-demand, need a dedicated venting system that's sealed. This is not something that you can do yourself and requires professional installation. This requirement is the same whether you have a gas or an electric tankless water heater, with the main difference being that tankless gas water heaters need a larger pipe, which in turn adds to the cost of installation.
Think of a traditional water heater -- it's large, unwieldy and takes up a ton of space. It's also hugely energy inefficient. A tankless water heater takes up a lot less space, and it only heats water as it's needed. In short, tankless water heaters Rancho Cordova work by having cold water travel through your pipes into the tankless heater, where it's heated by gas or water elements and then passes onto where it's needed, like the shower or sink. This means you always have on-demand hot water, but without the excessive waste and use of space that traditional water tanks need.
Of course, being that tankless water heaters are rather small, larger families or those that go through a lot of hot water may have more than one heater installed. Whether you go through a lot of dishes, a lot of loads of laundry or there are a lot of people taking showers, multiple tankless water heater installation is a smart idea.
Gas and electric tankless water heaters both work the same, with the exception being the element that heats the water. Electric tankless heaters are more efficient overall (with a rating of around 98% or more efficiency) while natural gas tankless water heaters hover around 85% at most. But with the high cost of electricity, gas water heaters Rancho Cordova CA can be cheaper to run overall and generally last longer than their electric counterparts.
Now that you understand more about the pros and cons of owning a tankless water heater, the next question is often one of cost. What type of heater do you choose? How much will it cost? How much is the installation?

Rancho Cordova, California, is a suburb town on the east side of Sacramento County and is home to approximately 65,000 residents within its 35 square miles of land. Rancho Cordova was incorporated as an official city in California in 2003. Rancho Cordova plays an important role in the local economy as a financial sub-center and employs more than 50,000 commuters from the area.
Rancho Cordova, unlike many towns in the area, has not been a long-standing independent city and instead was considered really just a neighborhood till recently. Rancho Cordova advocated for the right to become a city in its own right for more than two decades. Finally, in 2003, Rancho Cordova was officially incorporated as the 478th city of the State of California. Since becoming a city itself, Rancho Cordova now also has a sister city: Turrialba, Costa Rica!
Rancho Cordova, however, does share its history with the western expansion and the gold rush, much like numerous other northern California towns. In fact, the Rancho Cordova community is the site of the first 12 miles of railroad laid down in California. During the 19th century, the town also housed a robust military base and is now home to an aerospace company.
While Rancho Cordova was able to prosper as a community of Sacramento and while unincorporated, it chose to lobby for incorporation so that Rancho Cordova could be recognized for its improved quality of life standards and identity independent of Sacramento. Additionally, Rancho Cordova sought recognition in order to have land-use rights, enabling the town to plan and regulate their own community spaces.
The Rancho Cordova community is very close-knit and demonstrated astounding support for the city’s independence (77.6% of voters sought incorporation) and the city is now organized and run by a Council-manager government with five members each acting in turn as Mayor for one-year terms. Cooperation, team-work, and creativity are definitely the cornerstones of Rancho Cordova’s community.
Residing in Rancho Cordova is incredibly pleasant. The dense suburb consists mostly of single-family residences and there are many parks open to the community and visitors. It’s a great place for families and young professionals to coexist given its progressive environment and amazing public schools.
With an active and young population, naturally, there are many opportunities for fun and engaging activities in Rancho Cordova. Like most places in northern California, the environment is pleasant nearly year-round and so there are ample trails for biking, jogging, or strolling among the natural landscape. Some of the most popular are the American River Parkway Trail, Rod Beaudry Drive, Folsom Boulevard, and River Bend Park. For more adventurous outdoor ventures, visitors and residents can climb a mountain at Granite Arch.
Families rave for the Sacramento Children’s Museum in Rancho Cordova as well. While museums are fun, nothing beats a water park in California! Rancho Cordova is home to three: Village Green Splash Park, White Rock Splash Park, and the Stone Creek Splash Park.
Sporty-types can also get their fill for competition in Rancho Cordova. The city hosts the Mather Golf Course, also the Monster Mini Golf! Alternately, sailing is available at neighboring Lake Natoma. Rancho Cordova also offers visitors and guests thrills like indoor sky-diving, laser tag, and racecar driving! California, of course, is also home to numerous regional species of plants and animals. As Rancho Cordova is relatively in the middle (east-west) of the state, it is dryer, and desert plants like cacti, aloe, and palm trees populate gardens, line roads, and add dynamic energy to the landscape throughout the region.
While visiting city, and while this next stop is technically in neighboring Carmichael, visitors should explore the Effie Yeaw Nature Center. The nature center is a great place to explore and relax. Additionally, it’s convenient proximity to Sacramento and other towns make it an ideal day retreat. The Effie Yeaw Nature Center has been a regional staple since 1955 when the founder, Effie Yeaw, a local conservationist began leading tours through the area and offering educational opportunities. Since then, the center has been dedicated to offering opportunities to learn from and about nature.
All in all, Rancho Cordova offers visitors a pleasant and relaxing environment away from the busy state capitol and is certainly worth a visit!
