Typical Boiler Issues

You could run into some common issues with hot water and steam boilers. While you might be able to address some of these problems on your own, for more complicated heat repairs or a significant boiler malfunction in Reno, you might need to hire a pro contractor like WCH Plumbing to take care of the issue for you.

Inaccurate Thermostat

If your boiler's thermostat has seemed to lose its preciseness, you might want to check if the setting is correct and if it is turned on. If both things are in place, you might need to replace the thermostat. The installers at WCH Plumbing Company can take care of it for you.

Zero Heat

Worn-out components, thermostat issues, or insufficient water levels may be at blame. You might want to give us a call so our installers can come over to your Reno home and take a look to determine the root cause of the issue.

Pouring or Leaking

Any signs of leakage from the boiler can point to a serious issue that needs your immediate attention. A plumbing contractor in Reno can examine the situation to identify if the dripping is due to a malfunctioning internal component, corrosion, or a worn-out seal.

Sounds of Banging, Whistling, or Gurgling

These noises can be caused by air in the system, low water pressure, or a failing component. The expert boiler installers in our Reno-based plumbing company can identify the root cause within a few minutes.

A Booming or Kettling Sound

Lime and sludge buildup in the heat exchanger is causing limited water flow. As a result, the water becomes too hot and begins to boil. A plumbing contractor is required to verify the actual reason for the noise.

The Pilot Light has Blown

Due to a faulty thermocouple, a draft, or an accumulation of deposits, the pilot light can stop working. Another option would be to stop using natural gas. Our installers will be better capable of guiding you with the right choice once you call our company so we can check your boiler.

Insufficient Pressure

A pressure valve could need to be repaired, or there could be a slow leak. Freshly bled radiators are another potential culprit for insufficient pressure.

Iced Condensation Pipe

The condensation pipe is often susceptible to freezing when the temperature drops since the pipe are positioned outside. You can solve this issue on your own by simply pouring some warm water on it to let the ice melt.

The Radiators are not Heating Up.

Air or sludge accumulation in the system can lead to the radiators failing to heat up. If you experience this issue, wait no further to give an expert professional like WCH Plumbing Company a call so our installers can come and take a look.

Boiler Repeatedly Shuts Itself Off

Numerous problems, including insufficient water pressure, thermostat problems, closed valves creating low water flow, and improper air or pump circulation of the water, could be to blame.

All of these problems call for the attention of an expert plumbing company or contractor. While we realize there are many boiler installation and replacement service providers in Reno, we offer the best service at the most reasonable prices, which will be depicted in the estimate you obtain from us!

Signs You Need a Boiler Installation and Replacement

Sure, repairing your current boiler sounds much cheaper, but will it be worth it in the long run? Our expert installers have curated a list of signs that indicate you should go for a boiler installation and replacement instead of a costly repair:

  • Higher energy bills.
  • Constant leakage and dripping.
  • Frequent need for repairs.
  • Strange noises from the unit.

This is the first time I've used this company but I must say I was very impressed with their communication, organization, follow through, price and professionalism. They did everything we agreed to for a very reasonable price I would use them again in fact I got a bid from them to do something else for me already. Both gentlemen were very courteous and professional. I was able to get my water heater installed the same day.

About Reno

Reno, is 35 kilometres (22 miles) north of Lake Tahoe in northwest Nevada, on the California border. Reno, the county seat and largest city of Washoe. Reno is northwest of Las Vegas, north of Lake Tahoe, east of Roseville (via Truckee), and southeast of Klamath Falls. Amazon, Tesla, Panasonic, Microsoft, Apple, and Google have invested in the Truckee Meadows between Reno and Sparks, creating a new US technology hub.

The Central Pacific Railroad (CPRR) dug eastward from Sacramento, California, in January 1863. At Promontory, Utah, they joined the Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) to build the first transcontinental railroad. Lake sold his land to the CPRR for a depot at Lake's Crossing. Lake's Crossing became Washoe County's largest settlement after Roop County was merged in 1864. Lake founded Reno. Reno began to develop in 1868, when the train station opened.

Reno made strides forward in 1931, the year when Nevada legalised open gaming and approved divorce rules that were more lenient than those in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Bill Graham, who is the proprietor of the Center Street Bank Club Casino in Reno, was the leader of the drive to legalise gambling in the state. Both the Bank Club and the Palace were prominent casinos in Nevada throughout the 1930s. Although casino gambling was not legal in any state, numerous states did legalise parimutuel horse racing. In 1927, the residency requirement for getting a divorce was lowered from six months to just six weeks. R. Herz & Bro, a jewellery store in Reno, began offering ring resetting to people who had been divorced, and El Cortez Hotel, which was constructed specifically for Nevada's high divorce rate, both began catering to visitors who had recently divorced. Many other Reno companies followed suit. Most divorcees left Nevada.

Five buildings were destroyed in Reno on February 5, 1957 at 1:03 p.m. when two explosions and a fire were triggered by natural gas that had leaked into Reno pipes and ditches. The properties were located along the Truckee River near Sierra and First Streets. It took two lives and injured others. Both the Century Riverside and the Palladio were constructed on the sites of the explosions that occurred first and second, respectively. After 1970, other states established laws that reduced the conditions for getting a divorce, which put an end to Reno's divorce business. However, gambling continued to grow in Reno. The 1940s cemented Reno's position as the go-to destination for gaming for the next two decades. In the 1950s, business taxation in Reno was relaxed in an effort to diversify the city's economy beyond its reliance on the casino industry. The key east–west rail connection, a rising interstate highway system, a favourable state tax climate, and inexpensive land all contributed to the ease with which warehousing and distribution could be accomplished.

Prior to the 1960s, Reno was the casino centre of the US. However, the growth of Las Vegas and the expansion of Native American casinos in California have diminished its gambling economy. Following large investments by Seattle and Bay Area firms, greater Reno enjoyed a tech boom in the 21st century. Amazon.com in Fernley started it in 1999. After the recession, the state prioritised economic development. Thousands of employment were created.

The 5.8-million-square-foot Tesla Gigafactory at Tahoe Reno Industrial Centre is the world's largest building. Several data centres at the Tahoe Reno Industrial Centre are diversifying a region recognised for distribution and logistics beyond gaming and tourism. Switch's Tahoe Reno Industrial Centre SuperNAP complex will be the world's largest data centre. Apple is expanding its data centre at the nearby Reno Technology Park and building a warehouse in downtown Reno.

Greater Nevada Field, a downtown ballpark completed in 2009, hosts the Arizona Diamondbacks' Triple-A affiliate Reno Aces. Most Reno Silver Sox teams played in Reno. Moana Stadium hosted the unaffiliated Reno Astros until 2009. The Reno Events Center hosted the NBA G League Reno Bighorns from 2008 to 2018. They were always a Sacramento Kings affiliate. The Sacramento Kings bought the squad in 2016 and renamed it Stockton Kings in 2018.MMA and boxing events are held in Reno. Reno hosted the 1910 "Fight of the Century" between Jack JohnRenoson and James J. Jeffries. R.
