What are the Advantages of Tankless Water Heaters?

First and foremost, tankless water heaters (also known as instant hot water heaters or on-demand heaters) use up to 50% less energy than traditional water tanks. This also saves you money because you're not keeping 50 gallons of more water hot continuously on the chance that it may be needed.

Beyond the energy and cost savings, they also supply hot water on-demand, wasting far less water as you wait for it to warm.

Are There Any Disadvantages to Tankless Water Heaters?

The biggest disadvantage to tankless water heaters Elk Grove is the cost that you pay up-front to own them. Smaller heaters often don't provide enough hot water for the average sized families. What's more, they only serve one faucet at a time and don't work concurrently. So if you want to shower while the dishwasher is running, you're out of luck. Larger units can handle these demands easily, but they are more expensive.

It's important to note that heaters, because of the high powered elements within them that heat the water on-demand, need a dedicated venting system that's sealed. This is not something that you can do yourself and requires professional installation. This requirement is the same whether you have a gas or an electric tankless water heater, with the main difference being that tankless gas water heaters need a larger pipe, which in turn adds to the cost of installation.

Water Heater Installation & Repair Contractor in Woodland, CA

Think of a traditional water heater -- it's large, unwieldy and takes up a ton of space. It's also hugely energy inefficient. A tankless water heater takes up a lot less space, and it only heats water as it's needed. In short, tankless water heaters Woodland work by having cold water travel through your pipes into the tankless heater, where it's heated by gas or water elements and then passes onto where it's needed, like the shower or sink. This means you always have on-demand hot water, but without the excessive waste and use of space that traditional water tanks need.

Of course, being that tankless water heaters are rather small, larger families or those that go through a lot of hot water may have more than one heater installed. Whether you go through a lot of dishes, a lot of loads of laundry or there are a lot of people taking showers, multiple tankless water heater installation is a smart idea.

Gas vs. Electric Tankless Water Heaters

Gas and electric tankless water heaters both work the same, with the exception being the element that heats the water. Electric tankless heaters are more efficient overall (with a rating of around 98% or more efficiency) while natural gas tankless water heaters hover around 85% at most. But with the high cost of electricity, gas water heaters Woodland CA can be cheaper to run overall and generally last longer than their electric counterparts.

About Woodland

Woodland is a beautiful city located in California, in Yolo County, situated 15 miles to the north-west of Sacramento. This city's origin dates back to 1850 when Yolo County was established, and California was bestowed with statehood. Freeman founded the city in 1859.

The 1860s is where Woodland started to develop itself as a city slowly and steadily. In 1861, the Woodland Post Office was built with Freeman as its postmaster. He was imperative in developing the town and did so by leasing and selling buildings for business purposes. 1860 provided ample opportunities for the city to grow. After the flood that occurred in Washington and California, the county seat was permanently moved to Woodland. Woodland witnessed the establishment of homes, churches, schools, and a cemetery. A central rail line was built, and the city's first newspaper Daily Democrat was established at this time. The Southern Pacific Railroad eventually acquired the rail line, which catapulted the city's growth and development. The rail track was further relocated and led to the expansion of Woodland.

In 1870, the city had a mere population of 1600 people. The city was officially incorporated in 1871. Post the incorporation, the city enjoyed multiple public services such as gravelled streets, electricity, water, gas, telephone services, and regular telegraph and train operations. The inventor of the Centrifugal pump, Byron Jackson, built a machine shop in 1872 in Woodland. In 1879, the business was later moved to San Francisco, which resulted in efficient pumps for groundwater irrigation, which brought drastic changes to California's agriculture industry.

The Chamber of Commerce was founded in Woodland in 1900 to help flourish new businesses in the city. During this period, public activism helped the city get an improved cemetery, a city park, and a library. The year 1910 witnessed Woodland's city become the most populated city in the county, with a demography of 3,187. The city witnessed slow and steady progress and development in economic growth and development in the next fort years. The main component of Woodland's economic growth was agriculture-based businesses. The city witnessed a tomato cannery construction, a sugar beet refinery, and three rice mills during this period.

The period after the war spurred the growth and development of the city immensely. The city's population tripled in the period between 1950 and 1980. According to sources, Woodland boasted of having the most millionaires' per capita income in the entire state of California. The north-eastern part of the city witnessed the set-up of distribution centers and industrial plants and the construction of shopping centers and new subdivisions. A greater interest in preserving the historic buildings of Woodland has been seen since the late 1960s. A staggering number of buildings have been preserved and renovated into museums, offices, stores, and homes.

The Interstate 5 construction completion in the 1970s steered the city's economic growth to a huge extent. With time, Interstate 5 and State Route 113 became the primary transportation arteries replacing the railroads. The 21st century saw the city experienced tremendous growth with additions to its community of citizens and several major chain stores that began their business operations in Woodland.

The economy of Woodland and its surrounding regions has been hugely based on agriculture. Along with agriculture, transportation has also majorly contributed to economic growth. But Woodland has not limited itself to agriculture and transportation and branched itself out over the years. The industrial sector has developed enormously with the presence of several warehouse and manufacturing concerns. One of the largest produced goods in the city are modular homes. Also, Woodland is home to several warehouses of major retail stores. Due to its closeness to Sacramento, the city has had the highest percentage increase in property value in the United States.

Woodland holds the Yolo County Fair, the largest admission free fair in California annually, and is one of the state's most visited fairs. The city is also home to various museums and other points of interest. Some of the must-visit places in the city are Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, The Woodlands Waterway, The Woodlands Hike & Bike Trails, The Woodlands Children's Museum, The Market Street, The George Mitchell Nature Preserve, The Riva Row Boat House, and The Woodlands Mall.
